Women of the Workplace Conference

wowMANCHESTER- In recognition of women’s contributions to the New Hampshire economy, the first annual “Women of the Workplace” conference will be held at Murphy’s Taproom on Thursday, March 19th from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Developed by the New Hampshire Division of Economic Development in partnership with the New Hampshire Mirror, Manchester Wolves and Women Inspiring Women, this event is geared towards female entrepreneurs, job seekers and CEOs alike.

Keynote speaker Kathleen Peterson, Chief Vision Officer of Powerhouse Consulting, Inc., will present “Becoming the CEO of Y-O-U,” an exercise in life management. With humorous anecdotes and practical tips, Peterson, who boasts experience across four continents as a featured speaker at conferences and Fortune 500 companies, will present the major “focus areas” for charting the course to personal success in tough times.

Other workshops include “Full Contact Business – A View From the 25-Yard Line” featuring the Manchester Wolves’ Stephanie Bike, the first female general manager of a Granite State professional sports franchise, “Empowering Women in Business” featuring Deb Titus, Managing Director of Dale Carnegie Training, “Read All About It – Everything You Need to Know About Publicizing Your Business” featuring New Hampshire Mirror Publisher Amy Vellucci and Tammy Boucher, President of Boucher Public Relations, LLC, and “The Power of Image” featuring Cheryl Peck of Salon Acquivit, Melissa Page of Melissa Page Cosmetics and Crissy Brown of Chill Day Spa.

Sales Protocol founder Catherine Blake will be the emcee for the event and Miss Kearsarge Valley Regan Hartley will perform a few musical selections. Women-owned Two Friends Café will be providing lunch. In addition, there will be door prizes and a special networking hour following the conference.

MANCHESTER, NH - The sizzle, sparkle, and glamour are returning to the Manchester Wolves sidelines with the selection of the Lady Wolf Pack Dance Team for the team’s upcoming 2009 season in the arenafootball2 league. Nineteen young ladies have been selected to perform at all home games, support the team and be involved in a variety of community service projects throughout the year.

After a one-year hiatus, the popular dance team will return under the direction and supervision of choreographers Kimberly Connor and Jessica Shea, both of whom were integral members of the Lady Wolf Pack in prior seasons. The Lady Wolf Pack will debut all new routines and costumes at the Wolves first home game of the 2009 season at the Verizon Wireless Arena on April 18th.

After rounds of preliminary tryouts, the nineteen members of the team were selected from among all of the finalists by a panel of celebrity judges who rated them for performance and personality among other factors.
